Invisalign repositions the teeth through a series of clear, progressive trays that apply forces to the teeth in the same manner as traditional braces.
The Invisalign trays are custom-designed based on information provided by your orthodontist, and you swap out the trays according the schedule set by the orthodontist. Typically, patients change their trays every two weeks or so.
For optimal results, patients also should be sure to wear the trays for the recommended period of time -20-22 hours – each day. The trays can be removed at mealtime or for oral hygiene.
Patients can take out their Invisalign trays when it’s time to brush and floss, and so those activities can occur in normal fashion.
Invisalign patients also remove the trays while eating, so no food is off limits. Eat all of the apples you want!
